A Little Jesus/Judas Slash to Start Your Day

I like a lot of things about this fanvid: the sweet electropop music, the way retiming some of the the scenes make something I know by heart seem fresh, oh…and the fact that it’s feeding my JCS craving.

Kidding aside, I, strangely, have an almost physical need to see Jesus Christ Superstar every so often. I do not know why this is.

(If you are curious whether or not you are immune to whatever soul-eating power this musical has…many incarnations of it are to be found on YouTube. )

(Personally, I’m of fan of the 2000 movie, used in the fanvid. Though I also think Drew Sarich makes an awesome Judas or Jesus. Obsessions are heathy, right?)

Found at the Library

The Snowman

The one thing I can’t understand about (one of) the local libraries I frequent is how they decide which books go on their “Graphic Novels” and “Graphic Novels for Children” shelves. This one was found in the children’s room.

I can’t wait to read this. It’s illustrated by famed Italian erotic comic artist Milo Manara (the fact that caused my double take in the children’s room) and although it’s titled “The Snowman” the cover looks remarkably like the Swamp Thing and John Constantine (though JC rarely carries a gun). I love finding odd books!

“That’s What Mr. A Said”

Felt the urge to look this scene up after watching Watchmen. Alan Moore recites a song from a band he was in. It’s titled “Mr. A”, after the comic book character that inspired Rorschach, and is simultaneously about Mr. A’s creator, the illusive Steve Ditko.

This clip is from one of the most entertaining documentaries I have seen, “In Search of Steve Ditko“. If you want to spend an hour learning some comic book history, whilst watching Jonathan Ross (who loves comics more than masturbation) be entertaining, Alan Moore being creepy, Neil Gaiman being cute, and Stan Lee being nostalgic, you should watch this documentary. Find it on bittorrent.

(No, this isn’t when Jonathan Ross snogs Neil Gaiman. You can find that -> here.)
