The EFF Wonders if You Can Be Identified by Your Browser, Help Out
From EFF.org:
When you visit a website, you are allowing that site to access a lot of information about your computer’s configuration. Combined, this information can create a kind of fingerprint — a signature that could be used to identify you and your computer. But how effective would this kind of online tracking be?
EFF is running an experiment to find out. Our new website Panopticlick will anonymously log the configuration and version information from your operating system, your browser, and your plug-ins, and compare it to our database of five million other configurations. Then, it will give you a uniqueness score — letting you see how easily identifiable you might be as you surf the web.
Try it out. My browser registers as pretty unique right now, but there clearly needs to be a lot more participants to get an accurate picture. Takes less than 30 seconds and you get to see all sorts of information you probably didn’t know other people could see.
Fortune in a Puddle
It rained a lot. I saw this fortune sunk in a puddle. I pondered the meaning of life.

(I’m aware I’m due for another nekkid female post, don’t worry.)
Sailor ToasterFaerie!
This is one one of the best otaku senshi (i.e. non-canon, fanmade, sometimesbutbynomeansalways self-insertion, Sailor Moon senshi) generators I’ve seen. You can control as many or as few details of the costume as you want – and at the end you can print your character in full color or as a coloring page. Plus a random costume generator. …Where was this 10 years ago? (Yes, I did play with Sailor Moon KiSS dolls – but that’s a post for another time.) Anyways, indulge your inner child. Please show me your otaku senshi!

Heather, who you’ve seen try to cook stuff, is blogging about her many obscure loves over at informationettes.
I foresee this ending in fire.

Windows 7-tan
She looks the the cutest OS-tan yet. I really like her multi-colored skirt and the cute hairband.
Echo Bazaar
This one is really intriguing. Echo Bazaar has a similar format to many passive games: you get some limited number of actions per time period, then you click things and see what happens. However, Echo Bazaar is filled with unique content. Each action advances your own personal story in Fallen London and gradually unlocks mysteries. I’ve been playing for about a month now and I still find myself curious about the world of the game.
Echo Bazaar is still in beta and a bit slow and buggy. To sign up you must use a Twitter account and any people you want to friend in-game you must friend on Twitter. The other major downside is this game has no forums, which is a real pity as it would be really interesting to talk to other players about the things they are unlocking.
Nevertheless, if you like New Weird settings and bottomless mysteries, you have to play this game. Just make sure your nightmares don’t get too high.
