BBC 2010 Sherlock vs. The Great Mouse Detective

If it came down to a fight, I think Basil would win. It’s a good thing they are on the same side.

And as a bonus, a Sherlock meme:

Sherlock: Invent your own job, then marry it.

Many Fanvids in This Post

This video wins for reminding me that Torchwood had some moments that I actually enjoyed. All These Things That I’ve Done is one of my favorite songs and this video does a great job of juxtaposing some of Torchwood’s more meaningful themes with it.

I’m really posting this because I can’t decide which Sapphire & Steel video to post. The one set to Carmalldansen? The creepy one? The humorous overview, introduced by Tom Baker, confirming, yes, you weren’t supposed to know what the hell they were fighting against? The one set to a song from seramyu (the Sailor Moon musicals – oh yes, believe it!)? Of course such a strange show generated such strange fanworks. You see, it’s so impossible!

Edit: Sorry, looks like the video player’s not showing up in the RSS feed. Gonna have to click through if you want to watch it!

Artemis 81

Has anyone seen this movie?

The footage in this vid is from Artemis 81 and is the only footage of this movie I’ve been able to find online. For a “cult movie” (as the BBC DVD release claims) this one falls on the forgotten end of the spectrum. (And I should note the music is not from the movie. I’m not even sure the movie had any background music.)

I watched this movie as a teen and remember being puzzled and somewhat haunted for days. Today I tried to rewatch it. I’m still not sure if it’s still over my head, too heavy handed with its symbolism, or just plain bad. I think it’s a bit of all three. Oddly, I find that when I was watching it as a teen I probably could have learned something from the main character. Ah well, better late than never.

Anyhow, this is one to watch, at least for the surreal experience. Then please come and explain it to me.

(And if you can find the connection between this and the Neverwhere post from a few days ago, I’ll give you a gold star or something.)

Hitler Finds Out 2009′s Sherlock Holmes Trailer Is Real

“It’s okay. He’ll realize RDJ is the bomb in December.”

Who knew Hitler was a Jeremy Brett fan? Ok, I lied. But this really is the last Holmes related thing for a while!

They Crazy Adventures of Wassup Holmes

I promise this is the last Sherlock Holmes vid for a while but this is just too good. Here’s the orignal by Famous Last Nerds.

Wake Up in the Morning Feeling Like P. Diddy

(I’m aware I’m due for another nekkid female post, don’t worry.)

Happy Birthday Mr. Sherlock Holmes!

Video celebration by Harley Cooper. And if she didn’t include your favorite Jeremy Brett clip, she has another video here.

Interesting trivia: This is the second fanvid I’ve linked that is set to Britney Spears’ Circus. Huh.

More to come.

Also check out the trailers for Sailor Moon Analemma and The Last Soldier

Excited by the recent trend in Sailor Moon fan series. They’re all pretty visually and technically appealing, hope the stories are great as well.

Doctor Who, Anime Style

This fanmade clip hits the nail on the head, exactly what a Doctor Who anime would look like! I’d probably never want to see such a thing really come to pass, but the injection of a hyper, scantily clothed, anime girl-with-guns into a classic Jon Pertwee story is hilarious. Also, animated Pertwee gets to kick some serious ass…on the streets of Tokyo!
